Larry W. Jenkins Jr. joined Zausmer, Kaufman, August, Caldwell & Tayler as an associate in 2006. He brings to the firm significant litigation experience and an impressive academic record.
Mr. Jenkins' practice is primarily focused on representing insurance clients, with an emphasis on defense cases involving personal injury, motor vehicle accidents and insurance coverage.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jenkins gained experience representing both defendants and plaintiffs. His defense practice focused on insurance defense cases and those involving personal injury, general liability, automobile accidents and premises liability.
Mr. Jenkins also has considerable experience as counsel for plaintiffs. He has represented some of the largest insurance companies in the world in complex subrogation matters. Mr. Jenkins has handled cases throughout the country, many with damages in excess of $1 million. One of his more complicated and lengthy cases was a seven-party, $100 million lawsuit arising from a fire at a major steel coating facility. Mr. Jenkins has obtained favorable recoveries in several notable matters, including those involving large fires suffered by a newspaper publisher, a meat processing plant and a restaurant. Mr. Jenkins' prior experience has provided him with expertise in property insurance, negligence law, products liability and claims involving catastrophic fire and water damage.
Mr. Jenkins is a cum laude graduate from Wayne State University Law School. Despite working full-time for a law firm while attending law school, he was able to distinguish himself as a top student. Mr. Jenkins graduated in the top 15% of his class and earned several honors, including the Silver Key Certificate, the Ira J. Spoon Academic Scholarship and high grades in multiple courses.
