Heidi Hudson specializes in civil litigation, representing clients in matters in State and Federal Courts, as well as before the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She represents clients in a variety of matters, with an emphasis on professional negligence and employment litigation. She has represented employers in cases involving various claims of discrimination; sex and racial harassment; and wrongful discharge in State and Federal Courts throughout Michigan.
Ms. Hudson has represented numerous public and private schools in litigated and non-litigated matters, which include: wrongful termination; discrimination; retaliation; student discipline, suspension and expulsion; breach of contract; premises liability; and additional matters related to employer-employee relations.
Ms. Hudson has planned and spoken at seminars dealing with a variety of employment topics such as discrimination, wrongful discharge, and retaliation harassment, providing legal advice on how to prevent, investigate, and develop successful defense strategies against such claims. She has also served as a court appointed defense case evaluator for the Oakland County Circuit Court and has served as a defense arbitrator at the request of insurance companies, and litigants, both individual and corporate.
Ms. Hudson earned her B.A. from the University of Illinois, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1977 and her J.D. from Ohio Northern University in 1980. She is currently admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She has earned an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating awarded.
