Bryan Amann acts as of counsel to the Firm. Mr. Amann's experience in government, politics and the practice of law have resulted in a unique blend of expertise which international and Fortune 100 companies have frequently trusted to guide them quickly into and through complicated and potentially time consuming and expensive entitlement and administrative processes.
Mr. Amann's governmental experience started in Washington D.C. when served as the Lyndon B. Johnson Scholar in 1978 for Congressman William D. Ford while Bryan was still enrolled at the University of Michigan. After graduating from college in 1979, Bryan was employed in the UAW Michigan Community Action Program (the UAW's political arm) under Sam Fishman, Vice President Irv Bluestone and President Doug Fraser. This thrust Mr. Amann into the epicenter of politics at every level, leading to deep involvement in every Democratic presidential campaign from 1980 through 1992, and many Michigan gubernatorial campaigns from 1980 until present.
Mr. Amann's governmental experience has included Director of Federal Grants and Special Projects for Congressman William D. Ford, Deputy Wayne County Clerk under James Killeen. Bryan's role as Assistant Wayne County Executive under CEO Edward H. McNamara and Deputy CEO Michael E. Duggan included the oversight of the court and criminal justice system as well as serving as the Wayne County Airport Noise Czar. Mr. Amann also served nearly 4 years as a Wayne County Commissioner from 1991 - 1995. More recently, he served as the Chairman of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Waterways Commission after being appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm.
Since 1995 Mr. Amann's practice has focused on administrative law, governmental entitlements and zoning. His clients have included IKEA, Siemens International, Detroit Medical Center, Best Buy, Wayne County Airport Authority, The Paradies Shops, Waste Management, Grand Sakwa Properties, Michigan Cable Telecommunication Association, AT&T Wireless, Lowe's, Kroger, Meijer, CVS, TGI Friday, Ruby Tuesdays, Auto Zone, Canton Township, Northville Township, Singh Development, and NorthRidge Church among others.
Mr. Amann has been a featured speaker at various continuing legal education seminars including the Michigan Bar Association Real Estate Section meetings.
