Amy S. Applin joined Zausmer, Kaufman, August, Caldwell & Tayler, P.C. in 1992. As an associate of the
firm, she concentrates her practice in the areas of appellate practice, insurance
liquidation, insurance corporate matters, municipal law and the Headlee Amendment.
Having graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, Ms. Applin
was the Symposium Editor for the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform and
won awards for the highest grade in two law school classes.
Over the past decade, Ms. Applin has lent her professional expertise and personal
dedication to help represent clients such as Northwest Airlines, Titan Insurance
Company, Philadelphia Insurance Company, The Detroit Tigers and Wayne County.
Ms. Applin has successfully represented clients in numerous appellate matters
including the only published opinion under the Michigan Land Sales Act. She counsels
municipal employees to assist them in identifying and responding to Headlee Amendment violations.
Ms. Applin has also participated in municipal development efforts including the
Partnership for a New Highland Park and the Detroit/Wayne County Roundtable on
Sustainable Development.
